ok so I wanted to make a few drawings of things that I’m thankful for but it doesn’t look like I’ll have the time for more than this one very silly one

Ok laugh at me all you want but I am thankful for Fruits Basket! (I know it sounds dumb just hear me out, ok)

Fruits Basket is the catalyst of the greatest, most wonderful coincidence of my life.  Back in 7th grade I was interested in the mangas and animes because I was in 7th grade and that stuff was really cool to me even though I knew nothing about it. I didn’t know any series, or what was popular, so I went to a bookstore and just picked the first one to grab my attention. The illustration on the cover was cute and my mom was paying for it so if I didn’t like it then OH WELL NO BIG DEAL. I ended up LOVING IT but I didn’t have the oppurtunity to go shopping again to get more volumes for a while so I would bring the first one to school and read it over and over and over again. I was the new kid in school in 7th grade, so I didn’t have any friends and I was really nervous I wouldn’t make any. One day when I was walking out of class, Fruits Basket in hand, a girl crossed my path and said ‘Hey you read Fruits Basket?! Me too!!” I had phys. ed with this girl but never talked to her otherwise. That is, until the next day when she struck up conversation with me in class.

Long story short, we ended up becoming great friends, and she introduced me to the only other friends I’ve ever had. Though our interests are no longer similar (she’s really into partying and drugs now, while that’s something I have absolutely no interest in) we are still the greatest of friends, and I feel that I can say with much confidence that our friendship will last a lifetime.

And it’s all thanks to Fruits Basket :,)
